Hi there. For those of you who don’t know that I write “Cooking On The Hill,” my name is Jeff. I’ve been around food all my life, and it shows (I really do my best to stay in shape). When it comes to cooking, my Mother taught me how to make…reservations. I did get good at that, however, I really wanted to learn to cook well. Thank goodness for my wife. She has taught me just about everything that I know when it comes to the kitchen, especially when it pertains to doing a great job cleaning up. She is the most fabulous and wonderful cook I know. Not only can she cook, but she is one heck of a baker as well!
I’ve been involved in the food business for the last several years and have had an awesome time creating a wide array of products with unique and tasty flavor profiles. Some of the brands I have started are Burning Asphalt Sauces, Twisted Vine Gardens, and Soulshine Coffee.
Much of what you will read about here will have been influenced by my wife, my travels, and of course my palate. Oh, and I’ll bet you’re probably curious as to why I named this blog “Cooking On The Hill.” It’s simple. So much of the inspiration for what we cook and create begins up on The Hill. It’s our little piece of paradise aka as The Farm, aka The Land, aka The Cabin. Our indoor and outdoor kitchens there are our “Deep Breath” of fresh air!
