I thought naming this recipe the “World’s Best Meatloaf” was very appropriate since it really is the World’s Best to me. Trust me, I’ve had enough of them to know! Even though meatloaf has European origins and dates back to the 5th century, I can’t help but think how American it really is. When I hear Meatloaf I immediately think of two things; Meatloaf the tasty filling dish and Meat Loaf the once overweight, sweaty, “Bat Out Of Hell” Grammy Award Winner singer. I prefer the second Meat Loaf in moderation.
- 2 lbs. Ground Beef
- 1 Tbl Burning Asphalt Montreal Style Seasoning
- 8 Crackers crushed (any kind will do)
- 1 Egg
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- ½ small Onion diced
- Burning Asphalt Ketchup (You can use BAS Gourmet Ketchup that has NO Heat, Jalapeno Ketchup with medium heat, or Habanero Ketchup with fiery heat.)
- ½ cup Shredded Cheese of your choice
Mix all ingredients and form into a loaf. Place in loaf pan and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes. Remove from oven and squirt Burning Asphalt Ketchup (the heat level and amount is up to you) on the top. Place back in oven for an additional 20 minutes. When times up, remove from oven and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve & Enjoy!
